The Qingtongxia Yellow River Grand Canyon Tourist Area in Qingtongxia Town covers 126 square kilometres. The canyon, formed between a spur of the Helan Mountains and Niushou Mountain, runs for more than ten li and is the last gorge on the upper Yellow River. Its sites include the Qingtongxia water-control project, the 108 Stupas, the Da Yu Cultural Park, the long Qingtong gorge and an iron bridge over the Yellow River. It was rated a national 5A tourist attraction in February 2024.
