The Ordos Museum is a landmark contemporary museum designed by Chinese studio MAD Architects, opened in 2011. Its futuristic curved steel exterior contrasts dramatically with the surrounding desert landscape. Inside, permanent exhibitions cover the Ordos Bronze Age culture (3,000–2,000 BCE), Mongolian history and nomadic heritage, and artifacts from the Silk Road trade era. Admission is free.
