The Olympic Sailing and Marine Culture Tourist Area in Shinan District covers 5.25 square kilometres and consists of Qingdao Underwater World and the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, which hosted the sailing events of the 2008 Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games. The two were combined into one tourist area in 2020, which was rated a national 5A tourist attraction on 6 February 2024.
