Shandong Luoshan National Forest Park lies north of Oujiakuang Village in Zhaoyuan, on the border with Longkou, mostly within Linglong Town, 30 km northeast of the city centre. It covers 480 hectares and was approved in September 1992. Mount Luo, known in ancient times as Yangqiu Mountain, is the highest range in Zhaoyuan, with a 759-metre main peak and other peaks including Yuntun, Luofeng and Linglong. Forest cover exceeds 90%, with 130 woody plant species, 17 mammal species and 39 bird species. A film base for the TV series "The Great Gold Vein" was built in the park in 2013.
