The Central Red Army Long March Departure Memorial Hall stands at the East Gate of Yudu county town and was built in 1996. The "First Crossing of the Long March" here was one of eight ferry points where the Central Red Army crossed the Yudu River to begin the Long March; leaders including Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai and Bo Gu, with the first and second field columns formed from central organs, took their first steps of the march from this spot.
