ℹ️ About
Liujiaxia Reservoir on the upper Yellow River, also called Bingling Lake, lies 1 kilometre south-west of the Yongjing county town and 75 kilometres from Lanzhou. It was a large hydropower project designed and built by China itself under the First Five-Year Plan and completed in 1974. Up to 6 kilometres wide, with more than 130 square kilometres of water and a capacity of about 5.7 billion cubic metres, it serves power generation, flood control, irrigation, navigation and tourism and is called "the pearl of the plateau". In 2021 the Liujiaxia power station was named a national patriotic education demonstration base.
