ℹ️ About

The Linqing Canal Customs House on Mashi Street, Linqing, covers about 40,000 square metres with 8,000 square metres of buildings. Founded in 1429 under the Ming, it was the central government's office for collecting tax on Grand Canal shipping in the Ming and Qing, one of the eight great customs houses of old China. Built beside the canal, its front section held the tax hall, inspection pavilion and interpreters' office, and its rear a three-courtyard branch office of the Ministry of Revenue. It is a typical surviving canal tax office and was listed as a national key cultural relic in 2001.
