Lingao Cape lies at the northern tip of Lingao County, facing the Beibu Gulf and looking across the sea to the Leizhou Peninsula. It sits between Haikou and the Yangpu Economic Development Zone, 10 kilometres from the county town. It is one of the key tourism development zones approved by the Hainan provincial government, with beaches and heritage such as an old lighthouse.
