The Koktokay Scenic Area in Fuyun County covers 788 square kilometres on the southern slopes of the central Altai Mountains, at 1,200 to 1,500 metres, with granite canyons, wetlands and lakes. The Koktokay World Geopark was formally opened on 10 October 2018. The scenic area was rated a national 5A tourist attraction in 2012.
