An alpine lake on the Pamir Plateau about 196 km southwest of Kashgar along the Karakoram Highway, at an elevation of roughly 3,645 m. Ringed by year-round snow-capped mountains including Muztagh Ata and Kongur Tagh, it is admired for the clarity of its reflections, whose colour ranges from dark green to light blue.
