ℹ️ About
Jiulong (Nine Dragons) Mountain in Yankou Town, Longhui County, is 45 kilometres from the county town, with a main peak of 1,142 metres. It preserves the bluestone path of the old Xiling post road and the ancient inscription "Burang Wuling", remains of an old salt and tea-horse trade route. The Yankou Cave has varied stalactites and an underground river, with a "Third Front" arsenal site outside, and the Jiulongshan Reservoir mirrors the hills. Legend says a dragon and eight young dragons settled here, giving the name. The Niutianling area of Xiangjia on the mountainside has more than 20 facilities such as a boating centre on Taiyang Lake and a rainbow slide; with 95% forest cover, it is a summer retreat of central Hunan.
