Huayang Ancient Town in Huayang Town, Yang County, Hanzhong, lies deep in the southern foothills of the Qinling at an average 1,100 metres and is a national 4A attraction. A post station in the Han dynasty, it grew into a military stronghold on the Tangluo Road under the Tang, and keeps an old opera stage and more than 600 metres of Ming-Qing street. Entry is free.
