The Huangjing Old Forest Scenic Area in north-western Gulin County, on the Sichuan-Guizhou border, covers 9,122.6 hectares with 99.14% forest cover and is divided into the Sunzishan (Honglong Lake) and Bajiedong sections. A Danxia landscape in the Chishui River basin, it was declared protected government land in 1776, which preserved an intact subtropical primeval evergreen broadleaf forest at latitude 28° N. It is a national forest park and national 4A attraction, known for the Bajiedong waterfalls and Honglong Lake.
