It runs from the Honglin Bridge south past the Hongshi hydropower station, along Hongshi Lake and past the Baishan dam and lake to Golden Turtle Island at Liangjiangkou. It covers 28,574.6 hectares with 84.6% forest cover and was rated national 4A in August 2020.
