Hedi Reservoir, nicknamed the "man-made sea", is in Hechun Town, Lianjiang, Zhanjiang. It supplies the Leizhou Youth Canal irrigation area, spans four counties in Guangdong and Guangxi on the middle Jiuzhou River, and has one main dam and 36 auxiliary dams. Mainly for water supply, it also serves flood control, power and tourism, and is free to visit.
