ℹ️ About
Guangyue Tower stands at the centre of the old town in Dongchangfu District, Liaocheng. Built in 1374 in the Ming dynasty, it is called "the first tower on the thousand-li Grand Canal" and is one of China's ten famous towers. It is 33 metres high, and its four-storey all-timber main structure is the largest surviving Ming-dynasty tower in China. It was listed as a major national protected heritage site in 1988 and holds plaques and poems by the Kangxi and Qianlong emperors.
