Fuxian Lake lies between Chengjiang, Jiangchuan and Huaning, over 60 kilometres from Kunming. With an area of 212 square kilometres it is Yunnan's third-largest lake, and at up to 155 metres deep it is China's largest deep freshwater lake, holding 18.5 billion cubic metres of water and designated a national strategic water reserve. It became a national wetland park in 2020.
