ℹ️ About
The Fuquan Ancient City Wall is what remains of the Ming-dynasty Pingyue garrison town. Begun in 1381 and rebuilt in stone in 1391, it is 4,700 metres around and 7 metres high. A water gate at the Small West Gate was added in the Chenghua reign and an outer wall in the Wanli reign, creating a triple defence that enclosed the river; it is the only surviving water-city defence in Guizhou. It became a major national protected heritage site in 2001.
