The China Dead Sea in Daying County, Suining, uses brine from an ancient salt lake 3,000 metres underground. With a salt content above 22%, the water lets bathers float as in the Dead Sea in the Middle East. The resort opened in 2003 with wave pools, beaches, salt therapy and water rides, and was named a national 4A tourist attraction in 2004.
