ℹ️ About
The Chahai Site lies on a terrace 2.5 kilometres south-west of Chahai Village, Shala Town, Fuxin Mongol Autonomous County, 25 kilometres from Fuxin city. It is a Neolithic settlement about 8,000 years old covering 30,000 square metres. Excavators found 55 semi-subterranean houses and pottery, stone tools and jade. A 19.7-metre dragon laid out in reddish-brown stones is known as "China's first dragon", and its tremolite jade earrings are among the earliest true jades in China. A site museum opened in 1992.
