The Qianjiang Cao Yu Memorial Hall stands in Cao Yu Park at 26 Zhanghua North Road, Qianjiang. Covering 3,000 square metres, it is dedicated to the playwright Cao Yu, opened in November 2004 and grew out of an exhibition of his works. Its five sections, from the preface hall and his early years to his achievements, world renown and patriotism, and tributes by painters and calligraphers, display his books, manuscripts, photographs, inscriptions and letters, making it the most comprehensive collection of Cao Yu material in China. By the end of 2023 it had received more than 2 million visitors.
