ℹ️ About
Baohua Park lies at the foot of Laoyin Mountain on the east side of Gejiu, backed by the mountain's main peak. Founded in 1955 and covering about 200,000 square metres, it is the largest zoo in Yunnan after Kunming's Yuantongshan. It keeps more than 20 species of wild animals, including elephants, tigers, leopards and bears, as well as rare birds such as silver pheasants and peacocks; its gibbons make up more than half of all gibbons held in Chinese zoos. Forest covers over 90% of the grounds, which keep a green-calyx plum tree planted in 1670, and a cable car links the park with Laoyin Mountain.
