ℹ️ About
The Baiyang River Grand Canyon at 99 Kukesai Road, west of Urho District, Karamay, is a national 3A attraction. It follows the Baiyang River for 24 kilometres, with an average valley width of 400 metres and cliffs 20 to 30 metres high. The valley has riverside woodland dominated by Euphrates poplar, flanked by yardang landforms of red-brown mudstone and sandstone, so that desert and oasis lie side by side; it was once an important point on the northern Silk Road. Rafting is offered in summer, and in winter the frozen river becomes a natural ice rink.
