Biography

SIS is a Hong Kong singer-songwriter duo composed of two real sisters: the older sister Luo Yin Hua (stage name Sisi) and the younger sister Luo Yin Ming (stage name Yin Yin). Sisi was born on October 8, 1989, and studied at the University of Hong Kong where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Music and Languages. She also obtained advanced certificates in piano, voice, and music theory from the Royal Academy of Music in London. Yin Yin was born on June 15, 1991, and participated in the TV singing talent contest "The Voice" in 2009, where she became known for her original song "If I Were a Boy," which won the Yahoo! Most Popular Online Song Award. After the contest, a management company contacted the sisters, impressed by the positive energy in their voices, and signed them as artists. In 2014, they released their first official single "It's Great to Have a Dream" and their debut EP "DreamSIS" with a fresh musical style that attracted public attention. They won several newcomer awards that year, including Best Newcomer at the Hong Kong Music Awards and Best Innovative New Artist at the New Music Awards. In 2015, they released a special edition of their EP with two new songs, and in 2016 they released a comprehensive music collection combining music with prose stories they wrote themselves. They left their record company in June 2019 and became an independent duo.
