B2 (組合)

简介

B2 was a Hong Kong female singing group that has since disbanded. The group consisted of two members: Tan Jia Quan (Amy) and Guo Ke Ying (Sandy, Guo Ke Ying's younger sister). Both members participated in the "一级班少女歌唱大征集" competition organized by New Town Radio, where they won second and third place respectively, earning them a contract with BMA Records. Other contestants in the same competition included the group 2R, Huang Wan Jun, Huang Wan Pei, and artist Li Bi Qi. The group officially debuted in 2000, with a musical style focused on up-tempo songs. In October 2000, they released their first EP titled "B2 Attack". The group performed as guest performers at the Salon Open tennis tournament. At the 2000 New Town Radio Awards, the group won third place in the Most Popular Group category. In 2001, they released a self-titled album "B2同名專輯". Their lead single "型男索女" was considered to have vulgar lyrics and was banned from broadcast on various radio and television stations. In January 2002, they released their first full album titled "娥世代", and in June of the same year, a Taiwanese version was released. In 2003, the group announced their retirement from the music industry. Amy worked part-time at TVB and served as a reporter and writer for the entertainment news program "娛樂大搜查", while Sandy went abroad to study. In 2006, Amy left TVB and moved to Hong Kong Broadband Television as a host. In 2012, Amy returned to the music industry after joining自由行娛樂, managed by Han Yang. In 2018, the group was invited to appear on the TVB program "流行經典50年", where they performed their old song "Disco Dancing".
