花生女郎

简介

PP Gals was a disbanded Hong Kong female music group. The group consisted of four members: So Mei-yan (Joey), Yuen Lai-lai (Lily), Chan Suet-yin (Jonie), and Cheung Ho-yee (Tina). They debuted in 1991, and it is rumored that Cheng King-kei was the mastermind behind the group. The group featured a youthful girl image, with all members having long hair typical of 1990s teen beauties except for Cheung Ho-yee who had short hair. The group released one album titled PP Gals·DJ Boy in 1991, with its title track DJ Boy becoming a popular song on Hong Kong TV, radio, and afternoon discos that year. After releasing just one album, the group disbanded and became known as a "one-hit wonder." There is no officially accepted reason for the disbandment, with rumors including a member's pregnancy or the record company's bankruptcy. After the group disbanded, member Cheung Ho-yee changed her English name to Maggie, participated in the 1994 Miss Hong Kong Pageant where she reached the top five, and later joined TVB as an actress.
