Zen (樂隊)

简介

Zen is a Hong Kong rock band formed in 1995, consisting of four members: lead vocalist Huang Hexing, bassist Zheng Weihong, guitarist Deng Yanhui, and drummer Guan Lichen. Originally formed as Zenith in 1991, the band won the New Generation Popular Music Festival and became one of the most prominent rock acts in Hong Kong. They caught the attention of Warner Records led by Paco Wong and signed a recording contract, releasing their debut EP "I Remember You" in 1995, which achieved great success and entered major local music charts. The band released several successful albums and works, including the song "Bo Zuo Lang" sung with Zheng Yijian as the theme song for the film "Dragon Tiger Fight" in 1998. The band won the Best Group award at the 1995 CRHK Music Awards. After releasing the album "Kawan" in 2000, the band did not release new songs but reunited to perform in 2017 on the program "Pop Classics 50 Years". The band members continued working behind the scenes in the music industry, with the drummer working at Imperial Entertainment and producing songs for several artists, while the bassist works at Warner Records. The band celebrated its 30th anniversary by holding its first concert titled "Back To You" in August 2025.
