He Jie is a Chinese singer of the Yi ethnic group, whose original ethnic name is De Mu A Guo. She was born in Guiyang, Guizhou Province, in 1986. She graduated from the Popular Music College of the Sichuan Conservatory of Music. Her artistic career began in 1999 when she won the "Star Challenge" competition in Guizhou. She gained widespread fame in 2005 after participating in the Hunan TV show "Super Girl," where she placed third in the Chengdu division and fourth in the national finals. Following this, she signed with Tianyu Entertainment. In 2006, she joined Taiwan's Avex Music and released her debut solo album "Luminous Body," as well as a photo book titled "Illumination Project." Her second album, "Obviously Not Angel," was released in 2007. She participated in the Beijing 2008 Olympic torch relay in Guiyang.
