小島樂隊

简介

Island Band is a Hong Kong pop band founded in 1985. The first generation consisted of Lai Wan-man, Au San-ming and Wong Sau-fat, and was one of the main forces driving the Hong Kong band boom in the mid-to-late 1980s. Among their most famous works are the songs "Island Legend" and "Her Heart", which was the first pop band work to enter the Chinese Gold Song Chart. After releasing the album "Dawn", the three members split due to disagreements, with Au San-ming forming a new band while Lai Wan-man reformed the band with new members. The second generation featured collaborations with notable lyricists and composers such as Kar-long, Liu Zhuohui, Paul Wong and Kubert Yiu. Despite bringing in external creative help, the overall quality was considered inferior to the first generation. Later, the band became a solo project under the name "Island" in 1992, and Lai Wan-man went on to compose film scores and serve as music director for stage productions.
