麥劍秋

简介

Mak Kim-chau is a male artist from Hong Kong who was a TV announcer, narrator, actor, and program host at Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB). He entered the entertainment industry in 1980 after graduating from the 9th TVB Artiste Training Class, alongside classmates such as Tam Ying-ying, Miu Kiu-wah, and Wong Yat-wah. After graduation, he worked as an actor at TVB and hosted the program K-100 and the evening program guide K-100 Newsletter. Later, TVB's programming director Gan Kwok-leung assigned him to trial as an announcer, and after reviewing his performance, offered him the position of sole duty announcer. He accepted the move behind the scenes to secure stable employment in preparation for marriage. His voice became known as one of the "TVB station voices," announcing program names and narrating commercial advertisements, government promotions, and major variety shows. In 2021, the channels discontinued the human voice announcement system after decades of use, leading to the disbanding of the announcing team and Mak's departure. Nevertheless, his voice can still be heard in some commercials, particularly annual Lunar New Year greeting advertisements. Mak married TVB voice artist Yuen Shu-chun, whom he met during training in 1980, and they wed on May 2, 1987.
