Yip Chun Fai is a Hong Kong television director and producer, known by the nickname "Brother Fai", currently serving as a TVB drama series producer. He began his career in the 1990s as an actor at ATV from 1990 to 1997, while also working in the network's props department. In 1997, he joined TVB where he served as an assistant director and later as a television drama director, rising to senior director in 2006. In 2013, he was promoted to drama series producer in the network's production department. His first produced series after the promotion was the New Year drama "Bride Wannabes" in 2014. He achieved major success with "Stealing Seconds" in 2018, where lead actor Benjamin Yuen won both Malaysia and Singapore Favorite TVB Actor awards. His career peaked with the fantasy drama "Barrack O'Karma" in 2019, which received widespread acclaim, followed by its sequel in 2022. He faced international controversy over an actress darkening her skin to portray a Filipino domestic worker in the series, sparking accusations of racism. Yip Chun Fai apologized for the incident, acknowledging it was an unintentional oversight due to insufficient sensitivity in handling such subject matter.
