Peter Chan Charm Man is a Hong Kong stage and film actor born on October 24, 1982. He grew up in the Sha Tin district of Hong Kong in a family of three children. He was not academically successful due to his obsession with watching TV dramas, which led his father to lock the television cabinet. After disappointing exam results in 1999, he studied insurance and worked for five years as a data entry clerk at a reinsurance company. During this time, he completed his studies and attempted to study financial services at Hong Kong Polytechnic University but dropped out due to exhaustion. He was drawn to acting after watching stage actress Chan Suki's performances. He enrolled at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and graduated in 2012 with a Diploma and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama, receiving several scholarships. He began his film career in 2018 with the film "Three Husbands" directed by Fruit Chan, which earned him nominations for Best Newcomer at the Asian Film Awards and Hong Kong Film Awards.
