简介

Li Jin-fan is a Hong Kong Cantonese opera actor and film actor. He began his career under the stage name "Qian Ying-hong" performing female roles (hua dan) in all-male Cantonese opera troupes. Later, he transitioned to performing comic female roles (chou) in Cantonese opera. He also worked in both Mandarin and Cantonese Hong Kong films, specializing in comedic portrayals of effeminate men and homosexual characters. In 1966, he began working as a collections officer for the He-he Guild in Hong Kong as his main occupation, while continuing to perform Cantonese opera as a side activity. In 1967, during a performance at Lai Yue Mun, his costume trunk fell into the sea when a crane was loading it onto a ship, destroying all his stage costumes. He remained active artistically through at least 1973, performing a comic female role in the opera "Shu Jian Qing Shan Ke" at the Po Hing Theatre. His notable films include "Lucky Old Car," "Old Master Q and Big Potato," "Where's the Police," and "Brave Young Raiders," and he released a long-playing opera record titled "Sisters' Monument" in 1959.
