Yeung Wai Lun

Biography

Yeung Wai Lun, nicknamed "Ah Lun," is a Hong Kong actor and director, and a member of the boy band "Ju Ling Ling" and "Air Purifier." He was not fond of studying in his youth but developed an interest in acting during secondary school, excelling particularly at impersonating the character "Mat Tai." After poor results in his first graduation exam, he chose to repeat the year. In 2002, he enrolled at Caritas Mok Cheung Shue Yan Community College for a one-year drama program (his original major was commerce). He graduated in 2007 from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with an Honours Bachelor's degree in Drama, majoring in acting, and focused primarily on theatre. While still at school in 2005, he co-founded the theatre and band group "Ju Ling Ling" with Pak Chi, Chu Pak-hong, Chu Pak-him, and Chan Man-chun. Starting in 2014, he was invited by TV stations for guest appearances and found filming to be fun, fresh, and exciting, leading him to actively participate in numerous TV series and films. In 2015, he won the Best Actor (Comedy/Farce) award at the Hong Kong Drama Awards for his play "過戶陰陽眼" and the Outstanding Male Actor award at the Hong Kong Drama Festival for "平坦路上看不見日出." He gained significant attention in 2021 and 2022 for his roles in the TV series "大叔的愛" as the Franco-Chinese character "Fong Tsz Ping (Pierre)" and in the film "正義迴廊" as "Cheung Hin Chung," the main perpetrator in the Tai Kok Tsau parents' dismemberment case (a reference to Chau Kai Leung). In 2023, he was nominated for the Best Actor award at the Hong Kong Film Awards for "正義迴廊" alongside co-star Mak Pui-tung, marking his first-ever Best Actor nomination. That same year, he was invited by Ronald Cheng to serve as a mentor on the reality show "機動兵工廠."
