Wei Hong

Biography

Wei Hong was a Chinese actor born in Taiwan in 1937, originally named Wu Dongru, known in Taiwan by his stage name Wu Bin. He moved to Hong Kong to develop his career and changed his name to Wei Hong. He joined Shaw Brothers film production company. He starred in the film "Xiao Shi Yi Lang" in 1971. His roles were mostly villainous. He did not achieve significant development at Shaw Brothers, so he moved to Lu Qi's film company in the 1980s. He returned to Taiwan in the late 1980s, making guest appearances in TV and film productions. He passed away in 2010 at Kwong Wah Hospital in Hong Kong due to liver cirrhosis.
