简介

Wan Chongshan was born on September 24, 1942 in Taipei, Taiwan. He studied at the National Academy of Arts and was part of its third graduating class, beginning his acting career in the 1950s. He first gained recognition for his role in the 1967 film "Dragon Inn" alongside stars such as Shih Chun, Shangguan Lingfeng, and Xu Feng. After appearing in numerous films, he became a television actor with Taiwan Television (TTV), specializing in portraying villains and rebellious youth characters. However, as local Taiwanese dramas became prevalent, he went through a period where roles became scarce. In 2011, he was diagnosed with hypopharyngeal cancer while filming the drama "Happiness Unshakable" and began practicing qigong to improve his health. His condition improved temporarily, but he passed away on December 2, 2016 at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taoyuan.
