简介

Tai Chi Wai (Andy Tai Chi Wai) is a former Hong Kong television actor. Born in 1956, he grew up in the Tsai Yun Shan area of Hong Kong. He received football training at the Yuen Yuen Athletic Club during his studies, then worked as a waterworks inspector before moving into business. In 1979, he made his film debut in "Lyan Zhen Tiger Fish Prawn Crab" at the invitation of director Yi Lie, which sparked his interest in acting. In 1980, he joined the 10th TVB Artist Training Course, studying alongside classmates such as Andy Lau and Tony Leung. After graduating in 1981, he began working at TVB and gained fame for his role as Mongol Prince Tolui in "The Legend of the Condor Heroes" (1983), as well as the villain Zhang Jiaming in "Police Cadet." Despite his film appearances in movies like "Police Story 2" alongside Jackie Chan, he was largely typecast in villain roles in his early career. Over time, his roles diversified to include comedic characters and positive roles. In 1989, he invested in real estate, then worked in insurance in the early 2000s. He gradually left acting and transitioned to financial planning, with the TV series "When Heaven Burns" being his final television work before his departure.
