简介

Ben Li Kam Luen is a Hong Kong television cooking programme host and businessman, born on 4 June 1959. He grew up in a rooftop unit near Hei Wan Street in Causeway Bay in a family of six siblings, being the third child. He was educated at St. Buddhist Wong Chuok Primary School and Queen's College, where he excelled academically. He began cooking at age seven or eight and participated in football and musical activities at school. He achieved outstanding results in the Hong Kong Certificate of Examination and enrolled in the Hotel and Catering Management Department at Hong Kong Polytechnic. He worked as a chef at Furama Hotel and later at Maxim's Group before transitioning to teaching at several educational institutions. In 1990, he joined TVB as a host for a cooking segment in a women's programme after being recommended by cooking programme host Leung Tsang Ping Chan, who became his godmother. He became a full-time television host and opened a food seasoning factory in 1994. He hosted the popular segment "Tonight's Dinner" in "City Leisure" for many years and gained popularity among housewives. He had repeated verbal clashes with fellow host Anderson Tsun starting from 2009, which received extensive media coverage, though he confirmed the conflicts were not intentional but resulted from lack of rehearsal and the desire to create dramatic effects for the show.
