简介
Andy Lee Do-yu was born in Hong Kong in 1955. He graduated in 1977 from the sixth TVB artist training course, then joined the station and appeared in numerous television dramas, mostly in minor roles. In the 1980s, he began appearing in Hong Kong films, often cast as gangster characters due to his underworld image. In 1996, he starred in "Young and Dangerous" as Chan Yau, the vice chairman and advisor of the Hung Hing Society, and reprised the role in six sequels, gaining significant attention for the prominence and weight of his character. However, due to the decline of the Hong Kong film industry in the 1990s leading to fewer job opportunities, Lee retired from the entertainment industry after 2000 and turned to business, with his last film appearance in 2008. In 2019 and 2023, he was invited alongside several Hong Kong actors to attend the opening ceremonies of branches of the Chinese film company Shidai Huayu, bringing him back into the media spotlight. In 2023, he made a guest appearance in the TVB drama "Dance of the Phoenix," which became his final on-screen work. On April 3, 2026, Lee Do-yu died after falling while intoxicated and suffering a cerebral hemorrhage. Hong Kong actor Ng Chi-hung, who had co-starred with him in the "Young and Dangerous" film series, confirmed his death in Hong Kong on April 5, noting that he had undergone brain hemorrhage surgery after the fall. Following his death, online rumors claimed he was born in February 1968, leading some reports to state he was 58 years old. On April 6, the newspaper Ming Pao confirmed through Hong Kong Film Workers Association spokesperson Tin Kai-man that Lee was born in 1955, making him 71 years old at the time of his death.
