Yunzhong Li

Biography

Yunzhong Li was a Hong Kong actor born in Tianjin on September 2, 1911, and died on April 29, 1981. He began his acting career in the mid-1950s and appeared in over 170 films. He worked with several prominent film production companies including Shaw Brothers, Asia Films, MP&GI, Golden Harvest, and others, with the majority of his films being for Shaw Brothers. He was known for frequently playing villainous roles in films. He emigrated to Taiwan in the latter half of the 1970s and later committed suicide in 1981. It is worth noting that some rumors linking him to actress 狄娜, such as committing suicide for her or returning to China with her, were the result of confusion between his name and that of Hong Kong television director 李志中 (Li Zhizhong).
