紀保羅
简介
Paul Gare is a foreign actor from Hong Kong, also known as Kei Paul, classified as a supporting actor in film and television. He grew up in Hong Kong and is therefore fluent in Cantonese and able to write articles in Chinese. He began his career as a freelance actor in film and television around the 1980s or earlier, working at Asia Television and TVB, and is considered one of the earliest foreign artists in Hong Kong who preceded Daniel Wu. He typically plays foreign characters who speak Cantonese in TV series. One of his most notable roles was "He Xin" in TVB's major drama "Da Shidai" in 1992, a character modeled after Macau gambling tycoon Ho Hong Sang. He drew the attention of internet users in 2009 after playing "Dr. Lang" in "Gunjiao Xiongxiong," a role that sparked wide discussion in forums and social media and gained a fan page. The absence of the role and actor's name in the end credits initially upset some viewers, but it was later included in subsequent episodes. Although not a contracted TVB artist, he was invited to attend the finale event of the program "Dong Zhang Si Wang" and expressed his gratitude to the station for giving him the opportunity to play this role. In recent years he has taken on more substantial roles, including "Mr. Potter" in "Fu Er Mo Nai."
