简介

Robert Hung (洪羅拔), born on 16 January 1956 and passed away on 7 January 2018, was a Hong Kong television artist who graduated from the 10th TVB Artist Training Course in 1981. He began his career at age 17 when he traveled to the United States to study fashion design and window display design in New York in 1976, but as he had not completed high school and could not obtain a work visa, he was forced to immigrate illegally via the Bahamas and paid a US lawyer $1,000 for a forged visa. He worked in an underground restaurant and slept there at night until returning to Hong Kong in 1980. After his return, he worked as an assistant to a fashion designer and then in a fashion company specializing in window display, later becoming an image consultant at the famous "Romano" boutique where he styled stars such as Adam Cheng, Fu Sheng, Jenny Tseng, Kenny Bee and Fen Ni. He also trained boutique staff like Au-yeung Chun Wah and Lui Yu Yeung, whom he recommended for the TVB training course. He opened his own fashion boutique and traveled to Italy, France and Japan to import the latest fashions, with regular celebrity customers including Anita Mui, Simon Yam, Aaron Kwok and Maggie Cheung. He joined ATV in 1988 and co-hosted the program "活色生香" with Chow Mei Fung and Lee Dao Hung. He moved to Taiwan in 1992 and hosted several TV programs with Chen Mei Feng including "發燒麥克風", "歡樂傳真" and "明星100Fun", and represented ATV as a host for the Spring Festival Gala on Beijing Television in 1993. He hosted his personal talk show "明星明心" in 2004, interviewing over ten artists. He invested in disco and karaoke nightclub businesses from 2005, then became a painter in 2010, and also ran a café and a Japanese restaurant. He was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2013 and underwent successful surgery, but passed away at Prince of Wales Hospital due to cancer recurrence in 2018 at the age of 61.
