简介
Ronny Ching Siu Lung is the son of director Ching Gang and brother of Ching Siu Tung, who worked as a director and martial arts choreographer. At the age of 15, Ching Siu Lung joined Shaw Brothers Studio to study sound engineering, and after completing his apprenticeship at age 20, he specialized in visual effects and pyrotechnics design for films. In the late 1980s, Ching Siu Lung began participating in on-screen acting, appearing in many Hong Kong films including the "Young and Dangerous" film series. In 1997, he joined TVB television network and became one of its actors, playing the role of Beijing police captain "Qiao Jin" in "Detective Investigation Files III," which led viewers to mistakenly believe he was a real mainland Chinese person. In 2001, he established his own sound production company in Beijing, specializing in sound work for television and films. Ching Siu Lung participated in the production of over a thousand films, collaborating with renowned directors such as John Woo, Wong Kar-wai, Tsui Hark, and Li Han-hsiang. In 2012, he expressed concern that the profession of film sound effects engineering was nearing extinction, and decided to use online platforms to train apprentices for free before his retirement. In 2016, China Post selected him to issue a limited edition stamp as part of the series "Chinese Dream Realization - Hundred Most Influential Figures." In 2017, he also served as a presenting guest at the 22nd Busan International Film Festival.
