Chin Feng

Biography

Chin Feng, whose real name was 方鋧, was born in Guangdong Province in 1928. He was the son of a Hong Kong makeup artist named 方圆. After graduating from Chongqing University, he worked as a stage actor and was nicknamed "袖珍小生" due to his height and acting style. In 1949, he moved to Hong Kong, and in 1952 he began his film career under the stage name "Chin Feng". He worked at the 新華 company, and his first film was the dance opera "葡萄仙子". In 1962, he joined the 邵氏 company, and over twelve years, he appeared in nearly thirty films, initially playing young leads and later taking on comedic and villainous roles. He retired from acting in the 1980s. He passed away in Boston, USA, in 2012 at the age of eighty-four. He was married to 沈云 and had several children, including his daughter 方茵, who passed away in 2019 after marrying 邵维锋.
