Biography

Eason Chan is a Hong Kong singer and actor, known as "Music King", "Golden Melody King", and "New Generation Singing God". He began his career in 1995 after winning a singing talent competition. He has released over 40 albums. In 2005, Time magazine described him as the figure leading Hong Kong's Cantonese music trends and influencing the local music scene, and named his album U87 one of the top five Asian albums worth buying that year. He has been nominated nine times for Taiwan's Best Male Mandarin Singer award and won three times, holding the record for most nominations and wins. He topped Spotify's most-streamed artist chart in Hong Kong for six consecutive years. His collaboration with Universal Records has spanned 19 years with over 75 billion streams. In 2014, he received an honorary doctorate from Kingston University for his contributions to Cantonese pop music and culture.
