简介

Jordan Chan Siu-chun is a Hong Kong singer, actor and presenter, originally named Chan Siu-chun but changed his name to Chan Tai-chuen in 2020. He was born on 8 July 1967 in Huiyang County, Guangdong Province, into a poor farming family. He moved to Hong Kong with his father in 1979, living in the Fook Shan Yu Shan Estate and attending St. John's Primary School. He left school after completing the first year of secondary school to help support his family, working on construction sites, in hardware stores, restaurants and as a pastry apprentice in teahouses. At age 16 he worked as a food runner in a Causeway Bay restaurant but quit after being humiliated by his boss, then took work at a hair salon where he met a group of street dance enthusiasts. He joined TVB's dancer training course in 1985 and was immediately accepted, becoming a professional backup dancer for major singers such as Alan Tam, Anita Mui and Leslie Cheung. In 1992 he formed the singing and dancing group "Fung Ho Hoi" with Tse Tin-wah and Chu Wing-tong. He made his film debut in "Twenty-Something" in 1994 and won the Best Supporting Actor award at the 14th Hong Kong Film Awards for the same film, while also receiving nominations for Best New Performer and Best Supporting Actor for both "Twenty-Something" and "He's a Woman, She's a Man". He began hosting TVB's "Super Trio" variety show in 1995 but stepped down in 1996 due to his busy singing and film schedule, later returning for a new installment in 2013.
