After graduating from secondary school, he formed "D'Topnotes" and then "Zouncrackers" in 1965, which attracted a record label and released his first album. In 1967 he formed "Side Effects" and his cover of "Here's a heart" set a record by topping the charts for seven consecutive weeks with sales of 20,000 copies. He released his last solo album "When" in 1977. He performed between Hong Kong and Taiwan, then emigrated to the US in the 1990s before returning to Hong Kong.
