简介

Chui Tien You (original name Chui Man Kin) is a Hong Kong male singer and actor, born on May 16, 1983 in Hong Kong. He attended SKF Kung Kei Primary School and SKF Holy Trinity Church Secondary School. In 1997, while in Form 3, he was discovered by director Fruit Chan to shoot a beverage advertisement, subsequently signing with a manager to develop his acting career. He then made his first film appearance with a cameo in Fruit Chan's "Gimme Gimme". After graduating from secondary school, he studied in Japan for half a year, then returned to officially enter the industry, filming two movies "Give It a Shot" and "Glass Dolls", which participated in the 2001 Cannes Film Festival. In 2002, Chui Tien You formed the band SHINE with Wong You Nam, immediately sweeping group and newcomer awards at various music award ceremonies to become a new generation youth idol, releasing multiple records, with the popular song "Shan Wei Die" (Swallowtail Butterfly). He subsequently acted in several films including "Troublesome Night", "Shanghai Fortress", and "AV". In 2006, he began transitioning, developing separately from SHINE to focus on film and behind-the-scenes work, starring in Patrick Tam's "After This Our Exile" as the grown-up son, gaining significant attention. In 2008, he won the "2008 Rising Star" award from the Asia Pacific Actors Network at the 13th Busan International Film Festival. In 2009, he took the lead role in the independent film "Motif", breaking his usual image to play a psychologically unbalanced youth. In late 2010, he was selected by Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh among many actors to play a main role in the Hong Kong portion of "Contagion", his first Hollywood film. In 2012, he performed in "Concert YY" to great acclaim and reunited the band for concerts. In 2014, he starred in the film adaptation of the popular online novel "The Midnight After" and composed its theme song "Jie Kou You Luo". In 2018, he participated in "Where the Wind Blows", playing the young version of Aaron Kwok's character, and held his second Hong Kong Coliseum concert "Shine Moments Live". Musically, he enjoys rock, pop, and electronic music, and has created songs including "Tian You Lan", "Qu Ba Wang Jiao Sha FIT Ren", and "Lao Hua Qian Bi Zuo Shi Jian Shi", as well as publishing serialized novels and writing scripts.
