Biography

Yu Kiu (formerly known as Yu Kiu / 羽翹), real name Liao Yu Kiu, was born on 5 August 1985 in Hong Kong. She attended Cheung Chau National School for her early primary education, later transferring to St. Clare's Primary School, and studied at Ying Wa Girls' School for secondary education. She scored 26 in the 2002 Hong Kong Certificate of Examination and graduated from the University of Hong Kong's Biology Department in 2007, also holding a Grade 8 piano certificate. In 2009, she became a newcomer promoted by One Dollar Production Studio, releasing singles such as "港大女生", "私事公辦", and "待你差只想你怕". She also released a photo book shot in Sabah, Malaysia, and her debut album "羽翹 Ava". She co-hosted the online radio show "大把戲" on MemeHK and frequently shared beauty tips on YouTube. In 2013, she starred in the film "喜愛夜蒲3", and her bold performance boosted her popularity. In February 2018, she married singer-rapper Loi Wai after a 7-year relationship, with their wedding held at Repulse Bay. She announced her pregnancy in February 2020 and gave birth to a daughter, Harper, via C-section on 8 August 2020.
