简介

Born in Hong Kong in 1987, Wong Lai Yee (also known as Kandy Wong) traces her ancestral roots to Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. She began participating in singing competitions and performing with bands during high school. After graduation, she worked as an artist assistant, backing vocalist, and record publicist before meeting guitarist and vocalist Pan Wan Fung (Sugar Brother) through a friend. In 2007, they formed the duo "Sugar Club" and became a weekly resident performance group at Langham Place in Mong Kok until December 2010. They were discovered by Wego Culture and producer Lin Wei-zhe during a 2008 performance, signing with the label that same year. They performed at major music festivals in Hong Kong and Taiwan, including Spring Scream. Their debut album "I Love Sugar Club" was recorded in Taiwan in 2009. She earned an associate degree from Hong Kong Baptist University International College in 2008. She became a frequent collaborator with TVB producer Chan Wai-kuen. Her contract with Wego Culture ended in 2022. She is nicknamed "the replica of Priscilla Chan" due to her striking resemblance to the 1980s singer and her frequent covers of Chan's classic songs.
